Rosetta Dodson Memorial Scholarship
Our Commonwealth’s Rosetta Dodson Memorial Scholarship was created for the purpose of honoring the legacy of Rosetta Dodson and furthering the organization’s mission of cultivating leadership in equal justice and reconciliation.
Dodson’s community involvement provided invaluable uplift to a generation of students in Nelson County. It is Our Commonwealth’s honor to continue that legacy by annually awarding a scholarship to student community leaders in furtherance of their education and their future careers.
Our Commonwealth is deeply grateful to the family of Rosetta Dodson for allowing us the honor of sponsoring this scholarship program in her name.

Graduating seniors from high schools in Nelson County (Bardstown High School, Nelson County High School, Thomas Nelson High School, and Bethlehem High School) with a cumulative GPA of no less than a 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) and a history of community service are eligible to apply for the scholarship. First preference consideration is given to students who would be the first generation of their family to attend college but highly-qualified non-first generation students will not be denied consideration.
